Dr Bruce Jones

Having previously been involved with the ICSPP I am very excited about participating in the 4th congress in Melbourne. I believe that the greatest strength of the ICSPP is that it provides an opportunity to network with scientists and clinicians from a wide variety of disciplines all with a common interest in factors that affect physical performance of Soldiers. The sessions I look most forward to include those on occupational physical performance, physical fitness and mechanisms of overtraining. My interest in those derives from consistent findings that physical fitness affects both military task performance and risks of injury, my primary filed of interest. Personally, my presentation will cover the Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention in the U.S. Army: Evolution of the Science and the Public Health Process. Outside of the congress I plan on spending some time traveling Australia and would like to see as much of the native fauna and flora as possible.
